School psychologists provide support and interventions to children, consult with teachers, families, and other professionals to improve children’s social-emotional development and academic achievement, and assess children’s diverse learning needs in a culturally responsive way. In the early intervention setting, school psychologists help families navigate the special education process, connect families to school district service providers, and help children transition into preschool.
